Question:
Foreskin restoration, dekeratinization, sensitivity, smell and girth questions.?

Yet, another foreskin restoration question. I have been thinking and researching foreskin restoration for approximately 2 years. This year, (2012) I accepted my circumcision and, spoke to my parents about it, and decided I wish to have the psychological comfort of feeling like I am "whole" again. For those wondering why my parents chose to circumcise me, the answers are just about the same as everyone elses. They chose to circumcise me to "look like daddy" because my parents weren't educated on what foreskin does, because they thought "it's what they did back then" and lastly, "it was just a flap of skin."

My questions are: How long does dekeratinization take/finish? I have been keeping my glans covered for 5 days now and on the 3rd day noticed a bunch of dead skin flaking off the head of my penis. The sensitivity with the glans and orgasm on the 3rd day was enough to drive me wild and i haven't even finished restoring/fully de-keratinized!

Next question, sensitivity; it's been 5 days since i've kept my glans covered 24/7 and only washed with water. The sensitivity has improved at least 25%. My glans was previously rough, dry, cracked. Recently with covering its been moist, getting smoother, leaving it un-covered now is annoying. I notice temperature differences when covered/uncovered and the shower water tickled my glans to where i had to keep it from being below the shower head.

Girth question; i read that girth increases, how so? I am already 8in long with 5 1/2 girth. (True, not trying to incite a sword size contest...)

Lastly, smell. I noticed on my 4th day of only washing with water (every day and after masterbation/sex/oral sex) i had a fishy odor. I am std free, keep that out of discussion. I asked my gf to smell my glans/penis to see if she could smell what i was smelling and she said no. Is it just my imagination with the "foreskins smell" stereotype? I heard natural yogurt on the glans /cidar vinegar will fix that problem but i havent noticed it on my 5th day of being covered?

One final question. I am 26 years old, will it take too long to restore completely at my age? Or do I have the age advantage that most didnt/dont when they started to restore?

Thanks for your time.

1. Dekeratinization depends upon how badly you are keratinized and your body. If you keep your glans fully covered 24/7, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. It is best to not use soap because it will irritate your mucous membranes. I only used oils when my penis got dry from tugging.

2. With full dekeratinization you will notice much increased sensitivity. But it takes more than dekeratinization to regain full sensitivity. You brain needs to relearn how to interpret the new sensations that it is feeling from your newly sensitive tissues. You will reach a point where you will be required to keep your glans covered 24/7 because it will be too easily irritated when it is exposed and allowed to rub against your clothes.

3. My girth increased because my restored foreskin, when it retracts, is like an accordian. The wrinkled skin is thicker than a single layer of shaft skin. I gained about 1/4 inch of girth from restoring. My partner noticed the difference in girth.

4. Wash with water. When you are dekeratinizing, you will produce much more dead skin cells than normal (that is what dekeratinization is - the sloughing off of keratin). I had a strong odor for about a month or so. I stunk. After I dekeratinized, the odor disappeared. I only wash with water. Soap dries out the mucous membranes of your glans and inner foreskin remnant.

5. Age does not matter as much as tension and tugging routine. Use enough tension and tug regularly, and you will restore your foreskin. Experiment with tension, tugging time, and rest time to optimize your progress rate. Tug for a month and measure your progress. Compare to your starting point from a month ago. That is your baseline. Change ONE thing and tug for another month. If there is an improvement, good. If not, then the change did not help. Change it again and repeat for a month. Eventually you will determine what works best for you.

There are two things that cause sensitivity loss from a circumcision. #1 is the nerve endings being cut off or severed #2 the glans constantly rubbing on clothing and drying out. He will only gain back the sensitivity loss from #2. However I have this to say, as a man who restored I DOUBLED my sensitivity with foreskin restoration. The sensitivity increase is drastic even if not al is restored. The process is, once the glans is covered 24/7 and kept moist the head will start shedding skin basically for a few months. The skin peeling off is skin that has built up oer time protecting the glans from all the cothing chaffing. Once all of this peels off (6-9 months) he will feel sensitivty increase durring and after. However his glans has to be covered. So he won't notice a sensitiviy gain untill his head is always covered. What I did is I bought a Senslip, it's an artificial foreskin, and I wore that while I wasn't weatring my device. That way I didn't have to wait untill the end of my restoring to get the coverage I needed for the sensitivity gain. Yes this happens in ALL cases if it's done correctly, which it's really hard to mess up lol. Also what he needs to know before getting too far into this. Go to google and look up foreskin coverage index. This is a scale of foreskin coverage over the head of the penis (none of the men in this scale are restored). Your partner MUST be at least a CI-3 before starting any device. If he's not at that point he can do mannual restoration methods (with his hands pulling the skin) untill he does. Otherwise the device will be painful or pull too hard on the skin causing problems and it wont be growing the skin, just hurting it. Water is not going to keep a penis clean, particularly one that has a foreskin. Keep in mind that foreskins are breeding grounds for bacteria and need to be washed out with soap and water every day or an infection or odor is possible. Lots of guys use Man1 Man Oil as well... this is a penis health creme that contains Vitamin A, which is antibacterial. Hope this info helps.

You really need an expert like @Mithras to answer this question.

Within my limited knowledge =

I guess most parents were and still are defrauded by the phoney claims

made by those with a financial or religious interest in pushing circumcision.

I am guessing dekeratinisation will take 6 months or so, because there may be

several layers.

I am interested that you prove what we've said about glans sensitivity

since the cirk lobby went to some lengths to demonstrate that it didn't

(Masters & Johnson)

I believe girth may increase up to age 30 = not sure this has anything to do

with restoration.

Smell is interesting = it's a pheromone.

If a girl likes your smell it's supposed to be Natures way of telling you are

a good genetic match.

Heterosexual men do not like smell of male pheromones even their own !!

Last question I can't answer = I don't know.

As a pediatric nurse who has assisted in over a thousand circumcisions.....YOU SURE WASTED a lot of time writing this mini novel to spread your anti-circ propaganda.

keratinization is a myth that is and was created by the anti-circ movement. This condition does NOT affect the head of the circumcised penis over any period of time.

My Husband was circumcised at birth and the head of his penis is as soft and as smooth as silk.

Your posting is complete Fantasy and does not reflect the biological function of the circumcised penis at all.

Restoration is Dangerous and is not Backed by any professional medical organization as it causes permanent damage to the penis.

Lastly your Penis does NOT have a fishy odor as you have been circumcised and do not produce smegma, which is what makes that foul smell so common with foreskins.

Why are you washing only with water?? You want to "restore" your foreskin, fine. But I see no reason why you shouldn't keep washing with soap. Washing with just water is gross. There's a reason we use soap, it works. It keeps us clean.
