I am afraid I am also in the Don't Do It category. I am one of the ones who knows what it is like and can speak from both sides of the table on this one. I was circumcised as a child and hated it my whole life. I discovered foreskin restoration three years ago and have been restoring ever since.
The foreskin I restore will be a poor second choice to what was hacked off my protesting body all those years ago, but it will be far better than living out my life circumcised.
Today, there are always medical alternatives to circumcision. No matter what your 'unique' situation is, there are ways of solving the problem without letting some hack in a lab coat cut the entire foreskin off.
The removal of 75% of the sexually sensitive tissue on the penis cannot make things better in any way. I suggest you find a new doctor who knows how to treat an intact (not circumcised) male without jumping to this cruel, brutal and destructive procedure. Circumcision is like curing a cold with a hand gun. The results are devastating.
If the skin is too tight, there are stretches that you can do to solve that problem. I have posted some information of these stretches below.
By the time I was in my early 40s, my glans had covered over with non sensitive scar tissue and dried out from rubbing in my clothes my whole life. Sexual relations with my wife became more of a chore than an enjoyment. As soon as I started to restore, things got a whole lot better. The sensitivity began to come back, and the glans regained its healthy, glossy, rich colour.
In all animals, the glans is an internal organ. The foreskin is there to protect, sheath, and keep the glans moist and healthy. It is not an external organ that should dry out and rub raw on your clothes.
For those circumcised men who say they have lots of sensitivity,.....I say: :"Give it time!' This drying out and scarring over of the glans can and does happen to all circumcised men. It cannot help but happen.
Go to: www.norm.org and read about the reason and function of the foreskin. You will see how very fortunate you are to still have yours, and how misguided are those who promote circumcision. While you are there, check the Lost List on the left hand column of tabs. You can read about all the damage circumcision does, and what little you will be left with.
In the end, it is your decision, but please be very well informed of all the down sides the medical profession never tells you about,...or just gloss over. After all,.....they make money several times on circumcision. First, when they cut it off, and afterwards, when the problems begin to arise, they charge again trying to repair the damage they did by cutting it off in the first place. Of course, they will not warn you against it. That would be cutting their purse strings.
